SPECIAL PROGRAMS – WADING – FISHING - PICHI LEUFU RIVER

This is a steppe river. The excursion begins in the City of Bariloche. Transportation will take guides and anglers along a typical Patagonian dirt road on a 1-hour journey. They will pass by the Los Patos Lagoon and reach the Pichi Leufu. This all-day outing will be quite interesting if you like hiking and wading shallow rivers. The Pichi Leufu resembles the European rivers. It is considered from small to medium-sized as compared to other rivers in the area. It is quiet and has pools and flumes to explore and have fun at the same time you catch rainbow and brown trout specimens weighing between 200 and 1500 grs. At noon, a good asado with meat and Argentinian wine will be followed by a good rest by the river. In this environment, anglers may practice spinning with very light equipments or fly-fishing with rods up to No. 5, dry and wet flies or typically European fishing, with very long rods and small flies. The guide will provide assistance regarding the park, the flora and fauna, as well as information about tourist services in Bariloche. We have modern equipment and human resources to make you feel like going through this experience again.

Fishing offered by this river: rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss), brown trout (salmo trutta), weighing between 200 and 2000 grs.

Equipment used: light spinning rods, spinning lure and very small spoons, fly casting rods up to No. 5, floating and slow sinking lines, wet and dry flies, according to season.

DURATION: ALL DAY (10 hours)
ITINERARY: it may vary according to weather conditions.
APPROPRIATE CLOTHING: suitable for outdoor excursions, hiking shoes, sport cotton stockings, loose trousers made of strong cloth, warm pie or long-sleeved shirt and waterproof jacket. Also, spare footware, stockings, sunglasses, cap and sun protection.
