PIEDRAS BLANCAS (VICTORIA ISLAND)
Leaving from the pier, we will sail Lake Nahuel Huapi from East to Northeast up to the southern end of Victoria Island and we will observe Mount Tronador from a different perspective. We will start bordering the island along its eastern shore. This island treasures legends from pre-Hispanic times. It sheltered the natives during the Spanish conquest. Today, it is protected by the National Parks Administrations and this circuit is rarely visited.
The perspective from the boat is different: slopes and small bays crowded with coihues, radales and cypresses. As we reach Puerto Gross, we will see formations of whitish lime rock which give its name to our destination: “Piedras Blancas” (white rocks). Upon arrival, we will enter a matchless bay and disembark at the National Parks pier. We will enjoy a good Patagonian asado and delicious smoked products and Argentinian wines at a quincho made of local wood and larch tiles. When we go back on board on our way back, we will enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with Abuela Goye chocolates. If the weather conditions are favorable, we will be able to practice trolling and cross the island up to the walls of the San Pedro Peninsula, an area known as “La Tabla” and then towards the harbor: our final destination.
All our equipment will be available for you. Also, our guides will provide polite professional assistance: the perfect complement to enjoy the scenery as well as get to know the local stories, take the perfect photograph, watch the flora and the fauna and experience trolling and spinning from November to April.
